We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior AI Strategy & Governance Consultant to support the our AI Governance team in developing, implementing, and refining Marcom's AI strategy and governance framework. This contract role will be instrumental in translating strategic vision into actionable policies, operational guidelines, and tangible initiatives that drive responsible AI adoption, optimize workflows, and enhance productivity across Marcom. You will contribute expert knowledge and hands-on support to ensure our AI endeavors align with Apple's values and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and refinement of Marcom’s AI governance framework, ensuring alignment with legal, ethical, and internal standards.
- Draft, review, and refine AI policies, guidelines, and best practices related to fairness, transparency, bias mitigation, data privacy, security, and accountability in AI/ML applications.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and documenting AI-related risks, proposing effective mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with emerging AI regulations and industry standards.
- Contribute to facilitating discussions and gathering input from cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, IS&T, NPS, Procurement, Operations, and Data Science to embed governance principles.
- Support the ongoing review and iteration of the AI governance framework to adapt to new technological advancements and evolving regulatory landscapes.
AI Strategy & Use Case Enablement:
- Provide expert input to define AI goals and objectives that align with Marcom’s overall business strategy and values.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify high-value AI use cases within Marcom that can drive productivity, foster growth, and innovate ways of working. Develop compelling business cases for proposed AI initiatives.
- Perform in-depth research and evaluation of new AI technologies, tools, and platforms, assessing their potential impact and fit within Marcom’s ecosystem. Assist in piloting and devising deployment plans for selected technologies.
- Contribute to assessing Marcom's current AI capabilities and support the development of an AI Maturity Model (from Awareness to Optimization).
- Assist in prioritizing AI initiatives by focusing efforts and resources on areas that will significantly improve Marcom's AI capability and deliver measurable value.
AI Operations & Enablement:
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Marcom, Apple (AI/ML teams, IS&T, AML), and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and adoption of AI solutions.
- Provide expert consultation on solution design for specific AI projects, ensuring alignment with governance principles and strategic objectives.
- Support the evaluation and selection of third-party AI tools and services, assessing their capabilities, security, and compliance.
- Assist in creating and curating resources for learning and up-skilling Marcom teams in AI. This may include drafting newsletter content, developing training materials, and co-hosting learning sessions.
- Support change management initiatives to foster responsible AI adoption and encourage feedback from employees and stakeholders on AI progress and impact.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Law (with a tech focus), or a related scientific/technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in AI/ML strategy, governance, policy, or a related advisory role, with a significant portion in a consulting or project-based capacity.
- Strong understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) concepts, algorithms, frameworks, and their practical applications.
- Familiarity with the AI/ML development lifecycle, including model training, testing, prompting, and deployment considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable policies and strategic recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in drafting policies, guidelines, or frameworks, particularly in areas like responsible AI, data privacy, and ethical technology use.
- Knowledge of emerging AI regulations, industry standards, and best practices in responsible AI.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
