 Marketing Lead, Apple TV+

Apple is seeking an experienced, title marketer with a track record of building world-class campaigns to join our Apple TV+ Series Strategy team. This role will own day-to-day responsibilities for leading the global launch campaigns on upcoming series across a diverse range of content. This role is based in Apple’s Culver City office.

The marketing title lead will craft, build and guide the marketing strategy for Apple Original series, acting as the central cross-functional liaison (Marketing, Publicity, Product, Social, Development, Production, Business Affairs, Legal and more) with a focus on handling workflow and driving dynamic 360 marketing plans that drive buzz and viewership for Apple Originals around the world. You will also be an external point of contact with agencies and show creatives (show runners, EPs, creators), working closely with them to collaborate and communicate their vision through the marketing to the key audiences throughout the lifecycle of the show.

Your experience: You’ve been responsible for marketing high-profile, entertainment properties, crafting a clear and distinctive show positioning, creative strategy and informed media approach that cross-functional teams can execute and collaborate upon. You know how to tell stories on any platform that drive awareness, anticipation and engagement. A natural leader, you can listen and collaborate with internal departments/teams to align early on overall strategy and goals. Your love for all things Entertainment — music, film, sports and of course, television pop culture, pushes you to thrive in a quick moving environment and be an excellent teammate.

Key Qualifications 

  • Strong consumer marketing experience, with direct responsibility for launching original content in media / entertainment (at minimum, 10 years).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience running robust portfolio of creatively led 360-campaigns, from show/film strategy to executing the tactics, both paid and organic, and delivering results. You have marketing subject matter expertise with exposure and understanding of the complete marketing lifecycle:
    • Developing strategy, positioning and target audiences for consumer campaigns at scale
    • Developing strategies and partnering with digital teams on organic social and digital spanning content creation, community and audience development
    • Developing brand partnerships, promotions, activations and integrations with internal teams or 3rd parties, including retail extensions, experiential opportunities, growth marketing and editorial placements 
    • Cross-functional collaboration across Publicity/Talent Relations/Awards, adjacent business, distribution and development teams
    • Expertise partnering directly with producers, talent and creators on all campaign marketing
    • Knowledgable in developing media strategy and analytics, e.g. media mix decisioning, budgeting and forecasting, media pricing and budget optimization, return on investment, goals / measurement
  • Stellar executive written and verbal communication skills. Able to present ideas simply in presentations and documents across a range of partner perspectives — from creative to business / quantitative. 
  • Brings a highly strategic and analytical approach to decisions and problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, project management and multi-tasking skills with proven attention to detail.
  • Inventive self starter, willing to roll up sleeves.
  • Demonstrated leader with established track record and career progression, with a proven ability to collaborate and partner cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization.
  • International experience or experience working on local language originals titles, a plus.

Description

  • Develop in-depth marketing strategy for series including positioning, audience targeting, comms strategies, research / cultural analysis; socialize strategy and creative output with cross-functional teams as well as with key stakeholders including executive teams, development, producers/creators and business leads.
  • Manage cross-functional team planning to develop and execute 360 campaigns, including leading key meetings, developing campaign recaps and updates, and using project documents, such as marketing trackers, timelines, status reports, budget review, etc. to ensure execution against goals.
  • Work in partnership with creative teams to lead creative strategy and development, and oversee collaborative internal and external partner execution of multi-media content assets that extend the show across paid/organic initiatives, ensuring materials are aligned to show positioning and brand, and that creative is consistent across all consumer touch points. 
  • Partner with media team to develop brand and performance driven media plans that effectively promote content.
  • Prioritize resources and work outputs and determine key deadlines, and deliverables requirements, work back schedules to build and communicate realistic timelines for execution. 
  • Build process and workflows and incorporate technology solutions to improve how we work. 

Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent. MBA or relevant graduate work a plus.
