Marcom oversees all advertising and marketing efforts to ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications. Marcom’s Design Team is responsible for design and art direction, working collaboratively to define the look and feel of Apple products across all platforms.
We are looking for an experienced Product Graphics Designer to join our in- house team. In this role, you will work with a team of talented designers and producers to help facilitate the execution of regulatory graphics on Hardware that reflects Apple standards for simplicity and elegance. The day- to-day expectations vary, so we’re looking for an experienced self-starter who is able to tackle this role in a fast-paced environment.
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years relevant experience designing regulatory content for food and beverage, cosmetic or ideally consumer electronics. Experience with designing regulatory content on product packaging would also be relevant.
- You have a history of care and passion within graphics and design. You have honed the balance of engineering and design, respecting both roles influencing high quality outcomes with patience for the process.
- Established collaborator who consistently demonstrates a flexible approach to working across multiple teams and styles.
- Frequently communicate with executives leveraging interpersonal skills to handle ambiguity with grace.
- Expertly balances the details (highly meticulous) while simultaneously connecting to the bigger macro-view of design objectives to foresee potential roadblocks.

- Expertise in printing techniques (including 3D printing) and manufacturing processes is desired.
- Computer skills/software: Expert in Adobe CC (specifically Illustrator), and other applications including Photoshop, Acrobat and InDesign.
- Basic knowledge of database/operations systems is preferred - and willingness to learn in house file management systems.
Description
The Senior Designer, Graphics on Hardware will partner with a team of Producers and cross-functional teams (i.e. Industrial Design, Product Marketing, Product Design, Manufacturing Design and Regional Compliance Teams) to ensure required regulatory content is laid out reflecting Apple’s standards for simplicity and elegance. Responsibilities range from developing and placement of graphics across new and existing Apple hardware and their related components. Content includes text (in various languages), logos, glyphs, personalization, regulatory markings, and other regionally mandated markings on Apple Hardware. This role is vital to ensuring the delivery of accurate artwork on-time at each stage of design development. Their responsibilities will also include oversight on project status in collaboration with their Producer, priorities and approvals for launch execution, facilitating design direction and brainstorming with Product Graphics Producers and Industrial Design to develop and finalize graphic studies.
A successful Designer must be able to simultaneously handle several projects in various stages of design with multiple collaborators. The ideal candidate has honed passion for design with a strong attention to detail. This person must be resourceful, adaptable, creative, and results oriented with high energy and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Producers to gather design assets necessary to autonomously build artwork (CAD drawings, regulatory, safety, cross-functional and in region content, product code numbers, and branding names).
- Brainstorm with Product Graphics Producer, ID and Cross functional teams to develop and finalize graphic studies.
- Apply typography standard methodologies (font, size line-weight, how content relates and flows across various hardware surfaces including plastics/metals/fibers/other material) to the required content. Understand how how an various means to apply the content (pad printing, laser etc) to these materials can affect the artwork.
- Ensure consistency in minimalist design style and product ecosystem for the client’s design aesthetic and consistency.
- With the support of Product Graphics Producers, secure artwork for approval from all relevant cross-functional teams.
- Review physical or photo samples to ensure correct artwork implementation. Work with Producers and internal partners directly to communicate and resolve implementation issues.
