Description:

Our creative and technical team is looking for a dialogue editor to support our sound team in the creation of next-generation immersive video experiences. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience editing dialogue and production sound at a high level of craft and finish, and a curiosity in adapting these skills to new media experiences.

Description
The Dialogue Editor will join an in-house sound team, working closely with our Audio Lead and the broader team to craft compelling immersive soundscapes that set a new bar for the medium. You will be responsible for organizing production rolls, creating dialogue assemblies, editing dialogue and production sound, prepping AAFs, and conforming sessions. You will regularly collaborate with creative talent and external partners, and will be expected to operate with the discretion and quality those collaborations require.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in post-production sound with a strong focus on dialogue editing and sound editorial workflows
  • Expert proficiency with Pro Tools and Soundminer, including advanced metadata workflows, tagging schemas, and large-scale production sound roll organization

  • Deep proficiency in conforming high-track-count sessions using Matchbox
  • Extensive knowledge of common interchange formats (Final Cut XML, EDL, AAF) and the technical ability to parse, troubleshoot, and modify these files using third-party tools
  • Experience in editing both multichannel and Ambisonic source material
  • Experience with Ambisonic microphones and recording techniques
  • Experience with sound for non-traditional immersive media, with special emphasis on VR
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical and creative guidance to internal production partners and vendors
  • Understanding of spatial audio principles (localization, perspective, distance) and the ability to apply them to creative editorial decisions
  • Proven ability to evaluate, adopt, and contribute feedback on pre-release tools and workflows still in active development, including partnering with engineering teams on tool requirements
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with clients, partners, and leads
