About The Role
As the Associate Creative Director for the US Hispanic Market, you'll lead the localization of Apple US creative work from English into Spanish. You'll be responsible for writing copy as well as overseeing all work produced by our freelance writing network, in partnership with internal Apple creative teams. You'll help guide the launch of products and services for US Hispanic audiences, ensuring Apple speaks with one consistent brand voice while accounting for regional variation.
As opportunities arise, you may also write original copy for local USH marketing initiatives, partnering closely with Apple CDs to create work across retail, external environments, and apple.com.
We are looking for a bicultural and bilingual creative who understands the deep nuances, diverse backgrounds, and acculturation levels within the US Hispanic community. With a solid copywriting background, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the brand’s product narratives authentically resonate with the diverse US Hispanic audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Leadership: Provide creative direction to a team of writers and editors, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages bold, culturally relevant ideas.
- Writing Skills: Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling copy across platforms and USH audiences, and maintain a consistent style and tone of voice across all deliverables.
- Cultural Strategy: Act as a key reference point for US Hispanic culture within the creative department. Help ensure work reflects a deep understanding of the diverse segments within this market, from Gen Z bilinguals to Spanish-dominant households.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Creative Leads, Brand, and Strategy teams to shape high-quality creative work for Apple.
- Quality Control: Maintain creative excellence in all copy, ensuring alignment with established brand standards across executions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in copywriting within an advertising agency or brand-side creative team.
- Creative & Conceptual Skills: Proven conceptual thinking and copywriting skills, capable of generating great ideas and executing them flawlessly.
- Language Skills: Exceptional bilingual and bicultural proficiency, with strong fluency in both Spanish and English.
- US Hispanic Expertise: Deep understanding of the US Hispanic demographic, including linguistic differences across countries of origin (Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, etc.) and varying acculturation levels.
- Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating strong copy-driven work.
- Tech Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of current technology products, with the ability to translate technical features into clear, compelling consumer-facing messaging.
- Translation Technology: Skilled in, or open to learning, CAT tools and Machine Translation (MT), as well as localization workflows and MT post-editing (MTPE).
