We are looking for an experienced Live Sports Production Manager with a strong background in live sports broadcasting. The ideal candidate will thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and be adept at managing multiple field crews with complex logistics. You will oversee all aspects of production, ensuring smooth operations and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver flawless broadcasts.

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end production launch readiness roadmap, defining key milestones to ensure timely event delivery. You will also manage interdependencies with teams such as Legal, Finance, Business Development, Risk and Security to maintain business continuity. The successful candidate is a self-starter, able to handle high volumes of complex tasks and react quickly to urgent situations. You have a proven track record of end-to-end project ownership and consistently deliver results in dynamic environments. You excel at identifying issues, driving decision-making, and escalating risks when necessary. 

Additionally, you bring extensive knowledge of broadcast production across live telecasts, shoulder programming, and specialty content. You are skilled in production management, budgeting, and solving complex problems across departments. Experience leading large-scale productions and building strong relationships with media partners is essential. You also have a strong background in contract negotiations, ensuring that service requirements and commercial terms are clearly defined. Additionally, you will have a strong rolodex of freelance contacts in the broadcast space. Success in this role relies on excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production process for live sports broadcasts, from pre-production to post-production, ensuring all broadcasts are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the technical and operational teams, including camera operators, sound engineers, directors, and other crew members.
  • Coordinate live event logistics, including scheduling, equipment setup, and on-site execution.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders (producers, technical directors, talent, operations managers) to ensure clear communication and the alignment of broadcast goals.
  • Ensure compliance with broadcast standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot real-time issues that arise during live broadcasts, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Budget management, including cost tracking, negotiating vendor contracts, and approving expenditures related to production.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, media production, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in live sports broadcasting production.
  • Strong knowledge of live broadcast production equipment, including cameras, audio systems, and control room operations.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale live sports events.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in real-time situations.
  • Familiarity with broadcast compliance regulations (e.g., FCC regulations) and sports rights management.
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by live event schedules. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of graphics and replay systems used in live sports.
  • Familiarity with remote production workflows
