Description:

The Color Management team within Marcom provides accurate and consistent workflows for color conversion, evaluation and approvals. These efforts include viewing environments, software settings, and soft and hard copy proofing. The color policies crafted and manage by the team extend to multiple cross-functional groups including design, production and pre-press.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of color management experience including ICC profile creation, analysis and application
  • Critical eye for color, tone, and subtle color transitions and discrepancies
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and written to internal and external parties
  • Hands-on experience with inkjet technologies including aqueous, solvent, UV and other print on demand processes
  • Experience with color hardware including spectrophotometers, both hand-held and automated systems
  • Detailed focused and can juggle multiple projects with shifting target dates
  • Unfazed by both fluid situations and can navigate multiple parties with conflicting viewpoints in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps especially color settings, mode conversions and how color is communicated between Adobe apps
  • Soft-proofing experience with turnkey solutions such as Remote Director
  • Knowledge of grand format RIPs a plus
  • Highly proficient in installing and implementing ICC based workflows and RIPS, especially proofing RIPs from GMG, EFI, and Serendipity
  • Understanding of PDF file structure, transparency, metadata, and prepress and preflight options
  • Deep understanding of printing standards, process control methods, color management and global industry standard methodologies related to these topics including ISO 12647, 3664, and 15339
  • Idealliance G7 Expert, G7 Professional Certification, SGIA Color Boot Camp or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead and manage projects requiring close collaboration with multiple teams both within Marcom as well as other extended groups
  • Good capacity to innovate beyond current knowledge and carry a mindset to deep dive and understand root cause as well as challenging the status quo to bring innovation forward

Description

  • Measure, build, evaluate, and validate ICC profiles
  • Maintain database of live production ICC profiles and keep production machines up-to-date
  • Investigate and resolve color discrepancies with logical and data driven methods
  • Carry-out step-by-step experiments designed by color management team to support R&D initiatives relating to new printing and proofing processes
  • Support Print Production and Design Teams in creating files and press forms to gather spectral and colorimetric data
  • Update periodically various test forms with the current product line including custom forms for specific printing conditions
  • Develop scripts to maintain common requirements for shared light room workstations - working closely with IS&T
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain Remote Director soft-proofing server - working directly with software developer.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain GMG, Fiery, and ORIS server - working directly with software developer.
  • Work with local, domestic and international vendors and suppliers to implement and maintain consistent proofing standards
  • Directly supports the Color Manager in both daily as well as long-term initiatives
  • This position requires an onsite presence and is not remote
