Business Affairs - App Curation and Clearance Manager (Mac)
Job Summary:
Apple’s Marcom group leads all global advertising and marketing communications. Within Marcom, the Business Affairs Apps Team manages third-party app and game content used across Apple’s marketing — from keynotes to retail, digital, and broadcast.
We’re looking for a contractor who can bridge third-party app curation and clearance — someone who loves discovering great apps (especially for Mac), has a sharp eye for detail, and enjoys working with developers to secure the rights to feature their work in Apple’s marketing.
This hybrid role blends creative judgment with rights management, and ensures that every app we show is authentic, visually accurate, and cleared for global use.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and recommend standout third-party apps and games — especially Mac and pro-workflow tools — that align with Apple’s creative briefs and brand priorities
- Verify user interfaces, visual fidelity, and version accuracy of app content used in Apple marketing
- Work directly with app developers and publishers to secure gratis assets & content clearances, ensuring their brands are represented accurately and respectfully
- Collaborate with Creative, Product Marketing, Legal, and Developer Relations to bring the best third-party content into campaigns
- Manage asset intake, metadata, and rights tracking through Apple’s internal system
- Identify and mitigate potential IP or brand risks throughout creative development
- Support Business Affairs and Creative teams with research, presentations, and app recommendations for upcoming launches
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, licensing, or digital content production (apps/games experience preferred)
- Familiarity with copyright, trademark, and IP basics as they relate to creative content
- Deep interest in Apple products and the app ecosystem — especially macOS and creative pro software
- Ability to balance creative instincts with business and legal considerations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, global environment
Preferred Background
BA/BS or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, law, or related field.
Experience in advertising, game publishing, or app development a plus.
