Consumer Insights Lead 

Location: Santa Clara Valley, California, United States (Onsite-Hybrid)
 

Job Summary:

You will be joining the Research arm of the Strategy Team within Marketing Communications (Marcom) as a Consumer Insights Lead to conduct market and consumer research and collaborate closely with extraordinary group of strategists and creative talent to launch Apple products, create new customer experiences, and tackle a variety of complex marketing challenges.

At Marcom, we use an objective and insights-driven approach to help refine and connect the Apple brand with current and future customers all over the world. At the forefront of strategy and research, this person will be responsible for leading a research roadmap and carrying out qualitative and quantitative research to understand customers and developing insightful reports to impact strategy and decisions across Marcom.

Key Qualifications:

You have a deep understanding of consumer research and brand communications.

Display intellectually curiosity in both quantitative and qualitative research analysis and reporting.

Global experience. Whether you’re a well traveled individual or someone who has worked on global brands, the ability to spot insights across markets is key.

A track record of partnering with and leading strategic conversations across functions, both within and beyond the Marketing org.

 

Have hands-on experience in both qualitative and quantitative research planning, execution and reporting.

Experience in designing flawless questionnaires and conducting analysis of large data sets from surveys for reporting.

Experience in developing research plans and discussion guides for qualitative studies.

Knowledge of third party data sources and experience in analyzing data for custom reporting, using various data tools.

Ability to hone in on key objectives and business opportunities to be addressed.

Synthesize existing proprietary Marcom research as well as syndicated research from third parties to inform meaningful insights on our marketing positioning.

Build relationships and partner with diverse, creative people who span many fields - brand, advertising, interactive, retail.

Strength in crafting robust qualitative and quantitative research, carrying out research in field, reporting of research findings, translating research findings into implications for media and communications planning and strategy

Extraordinary reporting and writing, visual story-telling, and presentation skills.

You dig the smallest details and are passionate about flawless delivery.

Ability and desire to efficiently manage a high volume of research projects that are diverse in nature.

You love the creative process and the intersection and impact of technology on people’s lives.

Description:

As a Researcher in Marcom, you will manage research projects that spark, encourage and guide the development and execution of outstanding marketing in support of Apple’s business goals.

Responsibilities:

Develop research roadmaps and lead comprehensive research programs from initiation to completion.  

Thoughtfully explore, design and develop research studies, questionnaires and research guides.

Develop strategic research plans and RFPs to invite potential vendor proposals to our research studies. 

Build and manage partner relationships to ensure organized and execution of research projects.

Apply existing proprietary Marcom research and third party syndicated research to capture relevant insights for the team across various topics on an ongoing basis. 

Analyze survey data and synthesize results into meaningful reports. 

Explore and examine qualitative customer feedback and translate the audience mentality in an engaging way. 

Produce high quality and innovative research reports, including presentations, video clips, one-pagers, and more to share our research findings with our key partners and broader audience across Marcom.

Help re-envision our research approach in each potential study to continuously encourage the broader Strategy team with valuable insights.

Work in partnership with the rest of the Strategists to drive productive research results that impact our creative briefs and conceptual focus.

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree required. 

Advanced degrees in research or marketing preferred. 

Minimum 10 years of experience working in strategic marketing or brand planning as part of a brand team, consultancy or agency.

Minimum 10 years of research experience.
