Job Summary
The Marcom Post Production Department (PPD) is a full-service post production organization comprised of the following devisions: creative editorial, grading, audio, visual effects, encoding, and accessibility. The PPD teams have a sense of pride in the work being produced, a shared sense of purpose as a group, and is known for delivering the highest quality creative content. The ideal candidate is highly creative, strong technically, and has a proven track record of delivering on large-scale productions.
The accessibility audio producer works within the post production team, leading the audio description efforts and leads a team of writers, directors, audio engineers, and voice talent to create descriptive audio mixes to accompany Apple's English-language marketing video content. This role works closely with other post production teams (especially Closed Captioning and Encoding), as well as video producers, video delivery managers, interactive, and accessibility stakeholders across the organization. A successful accessibility audio producer will have a deep grasp of both audio description/video accessibility standards as well as the video production pipeline, and will be able to confidently advise and respond to requests from a variety of sources.
The accessibility audio producer should expect to interact with a broad cross-section of video content. Primarily, the team makes customer-facing content for apple.com accessible; this includes short product videos, how-tos, shot-on-device demo content, and more. Long-form content such as product launches and other keynote addresses are a core responsibility of the audio description team. Additionally, the team supports select internal-facing content such as employee communications meetings and training videos.
