Job Summary


The Media Device Specialist supports the Marcom Production Operations group by developing and executing video projects. This role involves working as a DIT, media wrangler, and occasionally as a video editor or colorist on set. Responsibilities include offloading, transcoding, QC, and delivery of video footage, collaborating with teams on creative and technical aspects, and developing workflows for unreleased Apple products with engineering teams. The Specialist will also act as a liaison to internal Apple teams and external post houses.

This is a high-pressure role requiring excellent customer service and decision-making skills in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver video footage from production to post-production.
  • Occasionally edit, color grade, conform, and finish short films.
  • Provide on-set video signal monitoring and routing to stakeholders.
  • Specialize in Apple Vision Pro workflows, including stereoscopic 3D and troubleshooting VisionOS software.
  • Specialize in Shot on iPhone workflows, collaborating with Engineering teams and other technical colleagues.
  • Handle Apple Color Profile tasks, including color transforms, transcoding, and monitoring.
  • Coordinate hard drive preparation and shipping while following Apple’s security protocols.
  • Lead video cart builds with in-depth knowledge of components.
  • Manage raw files for various color spaces.
  • Set up review processes with creatives post-shoot.
  • Define technology needs and best practices for on-set equipment.
  • Communicate and delegate tasks to fellow production team members.

Key Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of MacOS, iOS, and video production experience (DIT, loader, camera assistant, editor, and/or post producer).
  • 3+ years of experience as a colorist or color pipeline specialist.
  • Proficient in Silverstack, Hedge, ShotPut Pro, Davinci Resolve, Compressor, Daylight (Filmlight), Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro.
  • Expertise in transcoding, video signal pipelines, and Apple device video recording.
  • In-depth knowledge of video terms (resolution, frame rate, color space, etc.) and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and train others.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends, and travel as needed.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift 45 pounds of equipment.
  • Valid passport with at least two years of validity.
  • Reliable transportation in the Bay Area.
  • Bachelor's degree in Film/Video or equivalent experience.
  • Must be available to work at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week onsite. Overtime may be required on short notice.

  • Preferred years of experience : 5+ Years
  • Travel Required : 25% or less
  • Business Day Timings: 9 AM to 5 PM
